TDW-Live

An independent thought forum for real conversations — not sales flannel

TDW-Live is an independent thought forum created by Technical Documentation World to enable open, honest discussion about Integrated Product Support, lifecycle data, and the realities of modern programmes.

It is deliberately designed to include vendors, service providers, practitioners, and decision-makers — but on very clear terms.

TDW-Live is a platform for thinking, challenge, and learning, not a stage for unchecked promotion.

Why TDW-Live Exists

TDW-Live was created because the industry needed a space where:

  • difficult questions can be asked openly
  • assumptions can be challenged respectfully
  • practitioners and vendors can talk with each other, not at each other
  • discussion is driven by experience, not marketing narratives

Too many events blur the line between thought leadership and sales messaging.

TDW-Live exists to draw that line clearly.

Vendors Are Welcome — Sales Flannel Is Not

TDW-Live does include vendors and solution providers.

That is intentional.

Vendors are a critical part of the ecosystem, and excluding them entirely creates unrealistic conversations. However, participation at TDW-Live comes with a clear expectation:

Vendors should focus on:

  • presentations focused on solutions that solve real problems
  • insight, experience, and perspective
  • contributing to discussion, not owning it

What is not welcome:

  • sales pitches
  • product-led presentations
  • disguised marketing
  • agenda-driven positioning of specifications, tools, or frameworks

Vendors participate as contributors to discussion, not owners of it.

Their value lies in solutions that solve real problems — not promotion.

An Independent Thought Forum

TDW-Live is not owned by:

  • specification bodies
  • tool vendors
  • commercial alliances
  • interest groups with predefined agendas

It operates as a neutral forum, curated to protect balance, depth, and independence.

This allows conversations to explore:

  • where specifications help — and where they fall short
  • how tools succeed or fail in real environments
  • the unintended consequences of well-intended decisions
  • what organisations are actually struggling with

These are conversations that rarely happen in vendor-led or specification-controlled spaces.

What Makes TDW-Live Different

TDW-Live is:

  • independent by design
  • balanced by intent
  • experience-led, not theory-led
  • discussion-first, not slide-first

It values:

  • honesty over reassurance
  • depth over breadth
  • insight over influence

Who TDW-Live Is For

TDW-Live is for people who:

  • carry responsibility for decisions, not just delivery
  • want exposure to different viewpoints without pressure
  • are tired of marketing-led narratives
  • value critical thinking and respectful challenge

That includes practitioners, programme leaders, consultants, and vendors who are comfortable engaging without a sales script.

What TDW-Live Is Not

TDW-Live is not:

  • a trade show
  • a product showcase
  • a specification marketing platform
  • a forum for agenda-driven messaging
  • a revenue generation event — while many industry events are primarily focused on revenue generation, TDW-Live prioritises discussion and learning

Those spaces already exist.

TDW-Live was created because something more credible and more balanced was needed.

How TDW-Live Reflects TDW

TDW-Live mirrors how TDW operates everywhere else:

  • independence over alignment
  • thinking before tools
  • clarity over comfort
  • long-term consequence over short-term messaging

It is not an outlier event.

It is a public expression of TDW's values.

In Short

TDW-Live welcomes vendors.

It welcomes challenge.

It welcomes disagreement.

What it does not welcome is sales flannel dressed up as thought leadership.

That boundary is what makes the forum work — and why it is trusted.
